Membership

Q: What are the benefits of having a membership?

A: Y.E.S! is more than just fresh, stylish events. Y.E.S! membership fees ($100 per year) go to support Dress for Success and the disadvantaged women in our community. That’s a small price to pay in exchange for all the fabulous benefits you will receive:

  • FREE Monthly Minglers ($10/mingle for Non-Members)
  • One FREE Y.E.S! Signature Event annually ($30/event for Non-Members)
  • Discounted Events throughout the year (½ off the Non-Member price)
  • Invitations to fabulous Members-ONLY Events
  • Amazing Members-ONLY door prizes and sponsorship gifts
  • Access to volunteering and leadership opportunities with both Y.E.S! and Dress for Success Vancouver
  • If you aren’t a Y.E.S! member, you can still attend events at a non-member ticket price

Q: What are the different payment options when purchasing a membership?

A: There are three easy payment options to choose from:

  1. Recurring Quarterly Payments: $25 contribution every 3 months until you decide to stop your membership (minimum 12 months).
  2. One Year, One-Time Payment: $100 contribution and enjoy all the benefits for a full anniversary year.
  3. One Year, Group Rate:: Sign up with your friends and receive a group rate of $75 per membership for a full anniversary year (minimum 4 members and entire fee must be charged to one credit card).

Q: What kind of events does Y.E.S! host?

A: Our exciting networking opportunities include monthly mingles and stylish signature events designed to allow you to meet other dynamic professional women, make connections, and have fun! From healthy lifestyle sessions and informative business seminars to fashion shows. Have a suggestion for a future Y.E.S! event or venue? Please contact the Y.E.S! Q: What type of women will be at Y.E.S! events?

A: From CEOs and entrepreneurs to financiers and health care professionals, Y.E.S! Vancouver attracts dynamic women from all professions and industries. Check out our next event and take your networking to the next level!

Q: How can I keep up to date on upcoming Y.E.S! events?

A: If you’ve attended an event or are subscribed to our Y.E.S! Facebook page or follow us on Twitter @YESVancouver , you’ll be kept in the loop. We’ll send you our e-newsletters and e-invites to upcoming events.

Q: What is a mingle event?

A: Our mingles are fun, informal opportunities to connect with other Y.E.S! members. Bring a friend or come solo, have a drink, savour some nibblies, and start making connections with other like-minded women.

Q: If I join Y.E.S! can I bring a guest to your events?

A: Yes! Spread the word about Y.E.S! to your friends, colleagues and relatives. We welcome all women to attend our events as non-members.

Q: Are there other forms of networking besides the events?

A: We know by attending events you’ll spark new connections and opportunities. We also have Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter profiles to help you continue your conversations and forge new personal or professional connections.

Q: Who pays for the Y.E.S! events?

A: Every penny you contribute as a Y.E.S.! member goes directly to Dress for Success. We rely on our generous sponsors to make each event possible. Please visit our sponsors page for more information on our sponsors.

Q: How can my company sponsor an event?

A: We have a comprehensive sponsorship program for both financial and in-kind donations. Please send all inquiries to dfsvancouver.yes@gmail.com.

Dress for Success

Q: What is Dress for Success (DFS)?

A: Dress for Success Vancouver is a registered Canadian Charity that helps low and no income women to transition into the workforce by providing professional attire. Each Dress for Success client receives a suit for her interviews and a small working wardrobe when she gets her job. The suits we give symbolize our faith in every woman’s ability to succeed. Q: What can my $100 do for Dress For Success?

A: Your contribution and involvement in Y.E.S! will provide the boost that disadvantaged women of Vancouver need to get their career kick started. It can do so much! It could buy:

  • A business suit, shoes, and accessories
  • An on-line course for someone to upgrade their skills in our Dress for Success Career Centre
  • Reference books for the Career Centre and Professional Women’s Group library

Q: Is my transaction secure?

A: Absolutely! Your personal information will be stored in our database, but credit card information will not be stored by DFS. For the purpose of refunds and recurring donations critical information will be safely stored with our payment processor, Moneris.

The Moneris websites use Secure Socket Layer (SSL) and 128 bit encryption technologies to enhance security when you visit the secured areas of these sites. SSL is the industry standard tool for protecting and maintaining the security of message transmissions over the Internet. When you access your accounts or send information from secured sites, encryption will scramble your data into an unreadable format to inhibit unauthorized access by others.

Q: Which methods of payment do you accept?

A: You can pay online using Visa or Mastercard.

Q: Will I receive a charitable receipt?

A: A: Under tax rules and regulations this means that although 100% of your funds will directly benefit DFS we are providing something in return which rules out the tax receipt option.
