Q: What are the benefits of having a membership?
A: Your contribution to Y.E.S! Vancouver not only benefits Dress for Success and disadvantaged women in Vancouver, but also provides you with some great perks:
- FREE Monthly Minglers ($10/mingle for Non-Members)
- One FREE Y.E.S! Signature Event annually ($30/event for Non-Members)

Q: What are the different payment options when purchasing a membership?
A: There are three easy payment options to choose from:
- Recurring Quarterly Payments: $25 contribution every 3 months until you decide to stop your membership (minimum 12 months).
- One Year, One-Time Payment: $100 contribution and enjoy all the benefits for a full anniversary year.
- One Year, Group Rate:: Sign up with your friends and receive a group rate of $75 per membership for a full anniversary year (minimum 4 members and entire fee must be charged to one credit card).
Our Y.E.S! Events
Q: What kind of events does Y.E.S! host?
A: In keeping with our goal to connect like-minded women through unique events and activities we have some exciting changes and additions to share with you. This year we’re bringing you a full year of exciting networking opportunities. We have a variety of monthly events and minglers designed to allow you to meet some of Vancouver’s most dynamic women, make connections, and have fun. Events range from healthy lifestyle sessions to cocktail minglers to fashion shows, to informative seminars on business. If you have a suggestion of a future Y.E.S! event or venue, please contact the Y.E.S! Committee at dfsvancouver.yes@gmail.com.
Q: What type of women will be at Y.E.S! events?
A: You can expect to see all types of women at Y.E.S! events from CEOs to health care professionals to those just starting their careers and everything in between. We especially encourage Dress for Success clients to come to Y.E.S! events. Regardless of your current profession or career aspirations, we encourage you to become involved in Y.E.S! You never know what types of opportunities will present themselves over a simple conversation and a glass of wine.
Q: How can I keep up to date on upcoming events?
A: If you have contributed and become a friend of Y.E.S!, you will automatically receive newsletters and invitations for our upcoming events via email. Y.E.S! also has a Facebook Group where our event information is posted.
A: Our mingler events are informal opportunities to have a drink after work with other Y.E.S! members in a relaxed setting. Come with a friend, or come by yourself, safe in the knowledge that you will be greeted with a smile and be in the company of like-minded women also seeking new connections.
Q: If I join Y.E.S! can I bring a guest to your events?
A: We encourage you to spread the word about Y.E.S! Your friends, colleagues, and relatives are welcome to attend our events and are able to purchase non-member tickets.
Q: Are there other forms of networking besides the events?
A: We know by attending events you’ll spark new connections. We have also set up a Facebook page, exclusively for Y.E.S! members to allow you to continue your conversations and a secure on-line database to allow members of Y.E.S! to connect with other members to forge new personal or professional connections.
Sponsoring Y.E.S!
Q: Who pays for the Y.E.S! events?
A: Every penny you contribute as a Y.E.S.! member goes directly to Dress for Success. We rely on our generous sponsors to make each event possible. Please visit our sponsor page for more information on our sponsors.
Q: How can my company sponsor an event?
A: We have a comprehensive sponsorship program for both financial and in-kind donations. Please send all inquiries to the attention of Katie Schaeffers, at dfsvancouver.yes@gmail.com.
Members-ONLY Database
Q: What is the Members-ONLY online database?
A: We have recently launched a secure online database through our website to allow members of Y.E.S! to connect with other members to forge new personal and professional connections. You will receive your login information once you have registered.
Q: Do I have to be included in the database and what information is shared?
A: You will be asked when signing up for a membership whether or not you would like to be added to the database. The database will include your name, job information (position, company, and industry) and your contact information (email address and phone number). This information is only shared with fellow Y.E.S! members.
Q: How do I change or add information on my profile?
A: You can change your password once you have signed in but all other changes must be made from our end. If you experience any issues with the database or need to change your information, please send us an email to yes.database.contact@gmail.com. Please note that new members will be added to our database within 2 weeks.
Dress for Success
Q: What is Dress for Success (DFS)?
A: Dress for Success Vancouver is a registered Canadian Charity that helps low and no income women to transition into the workforce by providing professional attire. Each Dress for Success client receives a suit for her interviews and a small working wardrobe when she gets her job. The suits we give symbolize our faith in every woman’s ability to succeed. Q: What can my $100 do for Dress For Success?
A: Knowledge that you have done something good. Your contribution and involvement in Y.E.S! will provide the boost that disadvantaged women of Vancouver need to get their career kick started. It can do so much! It could buy:
- A business suit, shoes and accessories
- An on-line course for someone to upgrade their skills in our Dress for Success Career Centre
- Reference books for the Career Centre and Professional Women’s Group library

More details about the Membership
A: Absolutely! Your personal information will be stored in our database, but credit card information will not be stored by DFS. For the purpose of refunds and recurring donations critical information will be safely stored with our payment processor, Moneris.
The Moneris websites use Secure Socket Layer (SSL) and 128 bit encryption technologies to enhance security when you visit the secured areas of these sites. SSL is the industry standard tool for protecting and maintaining the security of message transmissions over the Internet. When you access your accounts or send information from secured sites, encryption will scramble your data into an unreadable format to inhibit unauthorized access by others.
Q: Which methods of payment do you accept?
A: You can pay online using visa or mastercard. If you would prefer to send cash or a cheque, please mail it to: Y.E.S! ValerieBraacx , DFS Vancouver, c/o the Royal Bank – 685 West Hastings Street Vancouver, BC V6B 1N9.
Q: Will I receive a charitable receipt?
A: As a member of Y.E.S you will receive invaluable access to our networking events. Under tax rules and regulations this means that although 100% of your funds will directly benefit DFS we are also providing something in return which rules out the tax receipt option.
